  Alaska Fishing Vacation

Planning your Alaska fishing vacation can be an overwhelming experience. Where to go, what to do, what to fish for? We can easily answer all your questions and set your group up with the best possible fishing package and vacation that will meet your needs. We'd love to be able to help you plan your Alaska vacation from start to finish. When planning an Alaska fishing trip you have to ask yourself a few questions.

1. When do I want to go?

Narrowing down the dates of your Alaska fishing trip can be hard. Our season basically runs from May through the middle of September. The peak of the fishing season is July, and is by far the busiest time of the year. If you are wanting a July reservation it's best to book a year in advance. During the month of July you can have the opportunity to catch a multiple of salmon species (sockeye, silver, king). Halibut are found plentiful and the fishing is good from May through the middle of September. You will find less crowds and often better prices during May and September. The best range of dates to book your Alaska fishing vacation is from the middle of June to the middle of August.

2. How many people are in my group?

Narrowing down how many people in your group will make a difference in the place you stay. Groups of 2 and 4 are common, yet we can accommodate up to 12 vistors. Keep in mind that your fishing trips will all take place in a variety different size boats. Saltwater halibut usually seat 6/8 people while river trips are limited to 4 people per boat. We will always ensure that your group stays together or arranges desired charter times to accommodate larger groups.'

3. What do I want to fish for?

Here's what we fish for: Halibut, King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Ling-Cod, Rockfish, & Dolly Varden. Halibut: May - Middle Sept.
King Salmon: May - July
Silver Salmon: Middle July - Middle Sept.
Sockeye Salmon: June - July
Rainbow Trout: May - Sept.
Dolly Varden: May - Sept.
Ling-Cod: August - Sept.
Rockfish: August - Sept.

4. Where should I go?

We only offer the very best fishing trips on the Kenai Peninsula. Our main lodging facility is in Ninilchik, merely minutes from where we depart for our halibut fishing charters. Our fly outs depart out of north Kenai, our river trips depart out of Kenai/Soldotna, and Kasilof, our halibut trips are out of Ninilchik (May-July) and then out of Seward (August-Sept).

5. Who would I want meet my Alaska Fishing Vacation needs?

Alaska Classic Adventures. Why? Because we go above and beyond the call of duty to provide unquestionably the best fishing service on the Kenai Peninsula. We got into this business and truly want to create a positive and worthwhile experience for you while fishing and visiting our great state of Alaska. We provide and use only the best equipment. Our halibut saltwater boat has one of the largest fishing decks around as well as a real marine toilet aboard. Our captains and guides are US Coast Guard certified, experienced, safe, and very friendly. First-class lodging paired with incredible fishing trips make our Alaska fishing packages the very best on the Kenai Peninsula.

Here's an example of a typical package we book a lot and what happens during the trip.

A family of four books 6 nights lodging and 5 days fishing as a fishing package. Most groups fly into Anchorage, Alaska and rent a car. They will then make the gorgeous three and a half hour drive from Anchorage to Ninilchik. Upon arriving in Ninilchik they check in and rest up for their first fishing charter early next day. They will then have fishing charters for the next four days and return toward Anchorage to meet their flight or perhaps visit more of Alaska.

A typical, very popular package we offer is the 6-night lodging and 5-day fishing charter. It consists of the following:

2 - Halibut Charters
1 - Kenai River King Salmon Trip
1 - Kasilof River King Salmon Trip or Trout
1 - Fly Out Sockeye/Silver Salmon & Bear Viewing Trip
